A storm and rain arrived barely an hour after the start of the Australian Open matches this Sunday. The majority of Australian Open 1st round matches have been halted, with play continuing only on the three main courts with roofs (Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, John Cain Arena).
As the rain continued to fall on Melbourne, the tournament organizers indicated that the matches would not resume “before 3:00 p.m.” (5 a.m. in Paris) on the annex courts.
