The French Football Federation formalized, through a press release published in the morning, the postponement of around twenty matches supposed to take place in the North of France. Some LOSC teams are affected.
For several days, the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais were placed on orange snow and ice alert. As of this Wednesday, January 8, the first flakes hit the ground in French territory and nearly 5 to 20 centimeters of snow in places were noted the next morning. White, the landscape then offered a unique setting to the inhabitants, causing joy in particular among the children. The smiles were nevertheless less visible on the roads, where the snow then gave way to ice, as well as on the pitches, where certain matches cannot be played in acceptable conditions. This is how several LOSC meetings have been postponed in recent hours.
The French Football Federation, through a press release published this Friday, formalized the postponement of around twenty matches due to current weather conditions. The LOSC reserve as well as its women’s team are concerned:
- Stéphane Pichot’s menthird in their group at the end of the first eleven days of the National 3 championship, will not take to the field this Saturday, as was initially planned. The meeting between LOSC and Calais, scheduled for 6 p.m. on January 11, has been postponed to a later date.
- The women’s section of the club is also concerned, she who was to face En Avant Guingamp, residents of the first division, in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France this Sunday. This prestigious meeting has been postponed to Wednesday January 15 (2:30 p.m.) by the FFF.
These two parts which concern LOSC are not the only ones to have been postponed. In total, 25 games will not be played this weekend, due to a lack of conditions suitable for playing.
