Details of Maxence Caqueret’s big contract with Como have been revealed.
Earlier today, The Team reported that Olympique Lyonnais had reached a deal worth 17 million euros for the transfer of the midfielder and academy graduate Maxence Caqueret (24 years old) at Serie A club Como. We now know the details surrounding the Frenchman’s contract thanks to a report from Foot Market. The FM journalist, Dahbia Hattabireported that the transfer fee would amount to just under €20 million, including bonuses.
-Caqueret is said to be on a hefty salary of around €300,000 and €350,000 per week at the club owned and managed by former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas. According to Khattabit was in fact Fabregas who tried to convince the player to leave his hometown club. It seems that these efforts have borne fruit, since the Frenchman is also ready to sign a three and a half year contract with the Italian club, according to sources close to the club relayed by Foot Market.
Caqueret had gone down the midfield hierarchy since the arrival of Pierre Sage at the head of Les Gones. Players like Corentin Tolisso, Nemanja Matic, Jordan Veretout and new signing Tanner Tessmann were offered more favorable playing time than the OL academy graduate. Caqueret’s current contract with Lyon was due to expire in 2027.
