The winter of 2024-2025 will remain as that of the returns to competition of great champions who have retired. After those of Marcel Hirscher and Lindsey Vonn in alpine skiing, here comes that of snowboarder Iouri Podladtchikov. Olympic half-pipe champion in Sochi in 2014, the 36-year-old from Zurich will take part in the Laax Open next week five years after bidding farewell to the high level. And he won’t stop there: his goal is to participate in the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2026.
