“The money no longer passes through our services, now the payment of bonuses is made directly from the Public Treasury”

The Ministry of Sports has launched a major reform to modernize and secure the process of paying bonuses to athletes.

Until now, premium payments in this department were made in a less than transparent manner, notably through travel with cash. This method presented risks of misuse and inefficiency. Aware of these problems, Ms. Khady Gaye Diène proposed a radical reform to guarantee better management of public funds and strengthen the transparency of the ministry’s financial operations. The main objective of this reform is to ensure full traceability and transparency of payments.

“Previously, payments in this department were made in the form of travel with hard cash. I therefore proposed that from now on, the payment of bonuses should be made directly from the Public Treasury. For football, this posed no problem. As soon as it was explained to them, all players provided their account numbers, and transfers are now made directly from the Treasury. Money no longer passes through our services“, declares Khady Gaye Diène, who announces that this initiative is part of the “Jub Jubbal Jubanti” project.
