: the Roses sign four Quebec players under contract

The Montreal Roses reaffirm their commitment to the development of women’s by welcoming four new Quebec players ready to shine at the professional level: Stéphanie Hill, Mara Bouchard, Félicia Roy and Lorie Thibault. These local talents join Gabrielle Lambert, Charlotte Bilbault, Latifah Abdu and Tanya Boychuk previously announced, determined to make their community vibrate, in front of their families and friends. These signings were made possible thanks to the support of FASKEN, founding partner of the club and a great ally of our vision for women’s soccer in Montreal.

“By welcoming these high-potential local players into our professional league, we are taking a position so that local talent can flourish at the highest level. Each of them brings unique skills and fresh energy that will enrich our collective. Together, we will write history and create beautiful memories on the field,” says Marinette Pichon, sports director of the Montreal Roses.

Stephanie Hill

In Dollard-des-Ormeaux where she grew up, her competitive spirit pushed her, from a young age, to play soccer, and she quickly fell in love with the game because of its physical dimension, the spirit of the team he favors and his strategic depth. She played defense for the McGill Martlets from 2021 to 2024. Her presence on the court is quickly felt: she is an imposing six-foot defender who has earned the status All-Canadian from McGill University in 2023 and was selected to the conference all-star team for the fourth time in 2024. She was also voted player of the game twice for McGill, including in the semi-final of the RSEQ. Her hard work paid off: she was selected for the team All-Rookie for USports after his first year, for the first USports all-star team after his third year, and, most recently, for the RSEQ all-star team last year.

Mara Bouchard

At 15, Mara joined the provincial teams at the National High Performance Center in . In February 2017, the midfielder participated in the national women’s under-17 team selection camp. Later, in 2017, she experienced a moment of great pride by winning the gold medal with Team Quebec at the Canada Games. Mara continued her soccer journey with the McGill Martlets from 2021 to 2024, where she demonstrated exceptional skills and unwavering determination on the field. In 2023, she earned first-team honors and was a consistent standout, playing all 14 regular season games and being named McGill’s Player of the Game 5 times, a team record. During his time with the Martlets, Mara earned four nominations as an RSEQ conference all-star, and three as an all-Canadian.

Felicia Roy

Growing up in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Félicia Roy is a midfielder who started playing soccer at the age of 4 and spent practically her entire sporting career with AS Brossard before joining the Program Excel Féminin in 3rd year of secondary school. She represented the South Shore three times. In 2017, upgraded by two years, his team was crowned champion of the Regional Selections Tournament. During the 2018 Quebec Games, she finished in 5th position before winning gold a second time in 2019 at the St-Georges Regional Selections Tournament. Felicia also won the bronze medal at the Concacaf U-17 Women’s Championship and had the opportunity to represent the country again at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in October 2022.

Lorie Thibault

Lorie Thibault, midfielder born in Blainville, embodies remarkable passion and commitment to women’s soccer. Having climbed the ranks of AS Blainville to the Premiere soccer league of Quebec (PLSQ) at 19, she also shone with the Aigles du Collège Ahuntsic where she was named to the Quebec and Canadian all-star teams . With the Université de Montréal Carabins, Lorie won the RSEQ Canadian championship in 2022, with personal distinctions such as the all-rookie team and 3 selections on the second team. That year, she accomplished a historic double as she also won the PLSQ Canadian championship with AS Blainville.
