The English first division club, West Ham, dismissed its Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday after only six months and 22 matches on the bench of the London club, currently fourteenth in the Premier League.
A press release from West Hama explained in the sense that “the first half of the 2024/25 season did not live up to the ambitions of the club, which therefore took measures in line with its objectives”.
-The 58-year-old former Real Madrid manager was appointed in May following the departure of David Moyes, but officially took up the role on July 1. Under his leadership, the Hammers won only six league matches.
The 4-1 defeat suffered last Saturday against Manchester City is the ninth in the Premier League. It returned the club to 14th, seven points outside the relegation zone. According to the British press, the Hammers have started negotiations with Graham Potter, former manager of Chelsea and Brighton, to succeed Lopetegui.
