With the 2025 NHL Draft just months away, there is one player in particular who stands out in the QMJHL.
I’m talking here about Caleb Desnoyers, who plays with the Moncton Wildcats.
At the age of 17, Desnoyers is not just good: he is one of the best players on the circuit, while he is ranked 4th among the best scorers in the league.
The native of Saint-Hyacinthe has collected 51 points in 31 games (!) and what is impressive about his game is his ability to be good in all three zones of the ice.
He excels offensively, and the same can also be said defensively.
Desnoyers is gaining points in the eyes of various recruiters and Simon Boisvert spoke about him in the recent episode of his podcast which he shares with Mathias Brunet (Process).
The Snake didn’t beat around the bush: for him, Desnoyers has what it takes to be chosen in the top-3 in the draft.
And in the eyes of Simon Boisvert, Desnoyers would become the Canadiens’ first center within 2 or 3 years if he had the chance to be selected by Kent Hughes:
What is interesting is knowing that the Canadian knows the main person very well.
Colleague Maxime Truman notably wrote a text at the end of November to say that the CH is watching him closely, and the site Responsible Gambler also agreed in the same direction, saying that Desnoyers is an important target for the Canadian.
-The idea of having a player like him is salivating because Desnoyers comes from Quebec and because it’s been a long time since the CH has had a dominant player from the province on its top-6.
Even less on the 1st line: David Desharnais rendered proud services to the CH for several years as first center… But we can all agree on the fact that he did not belong to the NHL elite at that moment.
All this to say that it would be the funsee the Canadian select Caleb Desnoyers in the next draft.
And if the CH is too far in the rankings, it will have what it takes to move up in the selection ranks with the view that it also has another choice in the first round this year:
