The transfer window promises to be hectic at Standard. The club is in regular contact with Burnley.
In recent hours, Standard is negotiating with Burnley for the transfer of Andreas Houtondji. The will of the Clarets and the player seems to lean towards the Rouches but Antwerp and Kortrijk are also in the running, offering to cover the defender’s salary.
As part of these negotiations, SudInfo reports that Burnley proposed to the Liégeois a certain Hannes Delcroix.
In the infirmary since April
The 25-year-old Belgian defender was transferred to England at the initiative of Vincent Kompany, Burnley had paid three million euros for him in the summer of 2023.
-But since then, his adventure with the Clarets has not really been a success. Alternating between the bench and the starting eleven upon his arrival, his results are limited for the moment. The fault lies with an adductor injury which again prevented him from playing a single minute in the Championship this season under the orders of Scott Parker.
Delcroix still has one year of contract in Lancashire. If the defensive compartment of Standard certainly needs to be strengthened given the injuries that strike him, the former Anderlecht player will undoubtedly need some time before finding his cruising speed.
