Alpine skiing – World Cup. The debrief in figures: what to remember from the Kranjska Gora weekend?

Kranjska Gora was the only stop on the Alpine Ski World Cup weekend program. Sara Hector and Zrinka Ljutic triumphed in style in the giant and slalom, but other performances should be highlighted during this Slovenian weekend.

Marie Lamure’s 10th place is the best result of the Courchevel skier’s young career. At 23, she obtained her first top 10 in the World Cup thanks to her performance in the Kranjska Gora slalom. A first French top 10 in the discipline since Chiara Pogneaux in Soldeu (10th).

Thanks to his new victory in the Kranjska Gora slalom, it’s a triple win this weekend. The Croatian is leader of the general classification, a first for her country since Janica Kostelic. She also takes the red bib of the discipline from Camille Rast, for four small points.

Sara Hector also shows that she must always be counted on. This is a 7th victory in the Giant World Cup for the Swede, largely victorious at Kranjska Gora. This is his 2nd victory this winter after Killington and his 3rd podium if we also count Semmering, just 9 days ago.

2 as his place on the giant’s podium, 2 as his number of World Cup podiums. At 18 years and two months, Lara Colturi continues to shine. The Albanian was on the box during the Gurgl slalom, behind Mikaela Shiffrin. On Saturday, she did it again by obtaining her first giant podium, finishing behind Sara Hector. Already two major performances in two disciplines for the daughter of Olympic champion Daniela Ceccarelli.

Again the 7th, but not for the same reasons. There were 7 Swiss women in the second round of the Kranjska Gora slalom on Sunday. Wendy Holdener finished 2nd, Camille Rast 4th and Mélanie Meillard 5th. There is also room for youth with Eliane Christen, 4 World Cup starts, two qualifications, two top 15s. Janine Mächler, 20 years old, ranked 21st. Elena Stoffel and Michelle Gisin also scored points in this race.

30

A historic 30th place for Argentina. On Saturday, Francesca Baruzzi Farriol finished 30th in the giant Kranjska Gora, the first point in the history of her country in the discipline. Even if she is the last classified in the race, more than 7 seconds behind Sara Hcetor, the important thing is elsewhere with a first qualification in the career of the 26-year-old Argentine.
