Bakayoko to Liverpool? PSV reacts

Liverpool have a few weeks to finalize their transfers before the January transfer window closes. The Reds have already been linked with interest in several new signings who could all join Anfield as early as the first month of 2025.

Arne Slot’s side currently sit top of the Premier League and are six points clear of second-placed Arsenal with a game in hand. Liverpool dropped two points in the title race on Sunday in a 2-2 draw against arch-rivals Manchester United.

The transfer window closes on February 3, meaning Liverpool still have plenty of time to sign new players to Anfield if they wish to do so. It remains to be seen which players, if any, the Reds will want to sign this month, but based on some of the recent rumors, several names could spark their interest.

Concurrence

Liverpool have been hit by a setback in their efforts to try and sign PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko. Recent reports have linked the Reds with a move for the Belgium international, although they are likely to face increased competition for his signature.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Newcastle and Arsenal are also interested in Bakayoko. However, the player’s agent, Gerard Witters, has released a statement confirming that a transfer for the striker during the January transfer window is not expected to happen.

“Bakayoko will not leave PSV this season, no matter the amount,” Witters said.
