“These shutouts are the result of a collective effort” – Lausanne HC

Impressively consistent for the past month, the young goalkeeper from the Lausanne Hockey Club has dazzled all ice hockey fans with his talent. Firmly installed as primary goalkeeper by Geoff Ward and his staff, Kevin Pasche presents itself as a must-have in the National League. For the EV Zug reception this Monday January 6, number 33 spoke with us about the end of the year and his objectives for the rest of the season.

A restorative leave

Before the end of season celebrations, the Lausanne players stood out for their consistency, dominating their opponents without giving them the slightest opportunity. However, we know that interrupting a dynamic of good performance can sometimes harm the regularity of results. Taking advantage of this end-of-year leave while maintaining optimal physical preparation is a balancing act that the LHC players have mastered to perfection.

Kevin Pasche : “It’s important to be able to enjoy your loved ones during the Christmas and New Year holidays, because these are the times that give us maximum energy and allow us to release the pressure. With a match to be played on January 2, we just had to be careful not to fall into the excesses that these moments of family life can bring. When I see the team’s form last Thursday, I think that each of us did an impeccable job.”

It is true that our Lions’ results since mid-December have impressed National League observers. With 6 victories in a row, the Vaudois have maximized their chances of finishing their regular season in the Top 6.

Kevin Pasche : “When the competition resumed in mid-December, I felt that the team’s state of mind had evolved. We wanted to show before the holiday break what we were capable of to ensure a good ranking. I’m happy to see that this series continues even in 2025, the team continues to stick together. It’s an exchange of good practices between the rest of the team and me, I see that the guys give 1000% in front of me, I try to return the favor. Defensively, we have always been good, but I felt that the little faults that we might have had from time to time have been erased.”

A young hope who is confirmed

From his second season among professionals, Kevin Pasche has established himself as the main goalkeeper of the Lausanne Hockey Club, asserting his status as a promising young talent needing to prove his ability to handle pressure. Constantly improving, the LHC Academy product still sees the progress he can make in the future.

Kevin Pasche : “I’m still young and I can still see the progress I can make over the next few seasons. I would still like to be more consistent throughout the matches, to no longer have slumps during a match. I am aware that it is by continuing to work hard that I will be able to achieve my future goals. I also place a lot of importance on my mental preparation to avoid putting too much pressure on myself before a meeting. I am convinced that if you manage to have fun in your life, the results can only follow.”

Number 33 perhaps still has room in his game and that’s all we wish for him. Nevertheless, Kevin has collected good performances since the start of the season. With 7 shutouts in 26 matches, 6 goals conceded in the last 6 matches and a 92.19% save rate, the Lausanne Hockey Club goalkeeper continues to perform in the Lions jersey.

Kevin Pasche : “Seven shutouts is already incredible. It’s a great reward for the work I put in on a daily basis, and I still hope to be able to improve this figure. That said, I have always said that a shutout is above all the result of a collective effort. Without a united team, these performances would not be possible. This statistic therefore reflects the constant progress of our collective. Our recent results have put us at the top of the championship, and I hope we can stay in the top 3 until the end of the season. It would be a fair result for all the work done by everyone on a daily basis.”
