The OL transfer window is turned upside down, it's imminent

OL does not yet have a free hand to recruit the two new players. The crucial meeting to get the green light from the DNCG is arriving.

Banned from recruiting, Olympique Lyonnais is currently complying with DNCG sanctions and is mainly seeking to get rid of a few players. This is already the case with Anthony Lopes and Gift Orban, whose departures reduce the payroll and fill the coffers. Pierre Sage confided it at a press conference, he would not be against other departures, this time to reduce a squad which he considers too copious with training which is sometimes done with 25. The Lyon coach consults with its sports management, and players like Ernest Nuamah, Maxence Caqueret and Wilfried Zaha are invited to find a new club in January.

But at the same time, OL will attempt a small miracle thanks to its multi-ownership and its close links with Botafogo, recent champion of Brazil and South America. The idea is to recover Thiago Almada and Luiz Henrique, to further grow the Lyon team. Both players see themselves signing for Lyon in the coming days, and John Textor dreams of setting up two free loans. Enough to raise eyebrows at the DNCG, for whom the bans must be respected, particularly with regard to the payroll.

It is in this sense that, according to L'Equipe, a crucial meeting will take place between OL and the financial policeman of French football in the coming days, in order to know concretely what is allowed to be done or not. The only certainty is that the two potential recruits cannot yet train or prepare for matches with OL, which will delay their integration. It remains to be seen whether the DNCG will be sensitive to the arguments raised by John Textor, who guaranteed his two players the possibility of signing in the Rhône this winter.
