Liverpool's Egyptian international striker, Mohamed Salah, set a new record in the English Premier League, thanks to two goals and two assists on Sunday against Tottenham (6-3), during the 17th day.
The former AS Roma player is the first to exceed ten assists and ten goals before the winter break in the Premier League.
Author of two goals and two assists against the “Spurs”, Salah largely contributed to the success of his team. But above all he broke a record in the Premier League (created in 1992): he was the first to exceed ten goals and ten assists in the league before the break.
“I hadn’t thought about it before the game to be honest. But it's something that makes me happy and proud. I'm just going to keep working hard,” said the Reds striker. In the same match, the 32-year-old also moved up to fourth place in Liverpool's all-time top scorer rankings, scoring his 228th and 229th goals in 373 appearances for the club.
This season, Salah has scored 18 goals and provided 15 assists in 24 matches in all competitions (including 15 goals and 11 assists in 16 Premier League matches). He is now two goals ahead of Manchester City's Norwegian Erling Haaland (2nd) in the ranking of Premier League top scorers.
Mohamed Salah is attracting admiration for his new Premier League record, with some calling him a Ballon d'Or contender and a working legend.
