Like every Monday, the NBA has just rewarded two players for their performances last week. The lucky ones? Victor Wembanyama and Cade Cunningham.
Big first for Wemby!
The French phenomenon was voted NBA Player of the Week for the very first time in his career (but clearly not the last). Victor was rewarded for his two XXL performances against the Hawks and the Blazers.
- 42 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks vs Atlanta
- 30 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 10 blocks vs. Portland
Victor Wembanyama took the Spurs to two victories, showing himself to be a clutch player against the Hawks (you shouldn't have upset him, right De'Andre Hunter?). Under his leadership, San Antonio is now 9th in the West (15 wins – 13 losses).

In the Eastern Conference, it's Cade Cunningham of the Pistons who wins. The leader took Detroit to a record of two wins in three games, averaging 27 points, 5.3 rebounds and 12.7 assists over the entire week (with a huge triple-double against the Heat in the mix) . We know one who could well participate in his first All-Star Game in a few weeks (with Victor Wembanyama).
They also received votes:
- Ouest : Dillon Brooks (Rockets), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder), James Harden et Norman Powell (Clippers), LeBron James (Lakers) et Nikola Jokic (Nuggets)
- Est : Jalen Brunson (Knicks), Tyrese Maxey (Sixers), Evan Mobley (Cavaliers), Pascal Siakam (Pacers) et Jayson Tatum (Celtics)
