This weekend, Senegalese footballers distinguished themselves by their remarkable performances in different European competitions. Among them, Ismaila Sarr and Chérif Ndiaye have made headlines thanks to their remarkable achievements.
Ismaila Sarr, after his double against Brighton, continued his momentum by scoring his fourth goal of the season against Arsenal during the 17th day of the Premier League. This goal, however, did not allow Crystal Palace to avoid a heavy defeat (1-5). Already beaten by the Gunners in the quarter-final of the English League Cup, Crystal Palace stagnates in 16th position in the standings.
His compatriots in the Premier League have suffered varying fates. Everton's Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye drew against current championship runners-up Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea. Pape Matar Sarr of Tottenham, for his part, saw his team lose heavily against Liverpool.
In France, Cheikh Ndoye, playing for Cannes, found the net in the Coupe de France, scoring against Grenoble. At 38, it was his first goal of the season after playing for Red Star last season.
In the Serbian championship, Chérif Ndiaye played a key role at Red Star Belgrade. His double allowed his team to win 5-2 against Cukaricki, thus consolidating their leadership position with a significant gap over Partizan Belgrade.
In Belgium, during the 15th day of the Challenger Pro League, young Senegalese hopefuls Saliou Faye and Pape Moussa Fall, playing for RFC Seraing, also stood out. Faye scored her third goal of the season and Fall, her eighth, sealed the victory for their team.
These performances show the notable impact of Senegalese talents across the European leagues, once again relayed by the APS to highlight their successes abroad.
