Atlético Madrid: Flick's powerful tribute to his players despite the defeat

Last night, FC Barcelona was stunned by Atlético Madrid in the last minute of play. While they outrageously dominated the match, the Blaugranas finally ceded their leadership throne to their opponent. Despite everything, Hansi Flick was a proud coach after the defeat: “We had an extraordinary match. I am very proud of my players and very disappointed with the result. Atlético Madrid waited for their chance and it was enough. For us it's different and it was very frustrating… But I'm delighted with the match. We don't give up. He then continued: “We played exactly the way I wanted. This is the style I want to see at Barça. I'm sad about the result because losing 9 points at home is not normal… but the performance was excellent. This is how I want the team to play. I see that we played very well today (Saturday), as well as the first 2 months. And then it’s true that we started to lose a lot of points” he regretted before concluding by praising Pedri: “Pedri is very professional. He trains a lot, takes a lot of care. The way he played was incredible. That’s how I like to see it and how it guides the rest.”
