Seven months later, Oleksandr Usyk did it again. Opposed to his great rival Tyson Fury, the heavyweight boss once again triumphed this Saturday evening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, thus retaining his WBA, WBO and WBC world champion belts. If the fight was closer than the previous one, the Ukrainian, who maintained his invincibility (23 victories in 23 fights), was still declared the winner on points after 12 rounds of rare intensity ( 116 to 112).
Entering the stage wearing a long red and white “Santa Claus” style outfit, Fury, as usual, put on a show at the Kindgom Arena.
The British boxer (36 years old, 34 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses) had not shaved his long beard, as requested by his opponent's clan.
For his part, Oleksandr Usyk appeared in the arena dressed in traditional Ukrainian attire.
Unlike their last clash, Fury showed patience, managing to hit his rival more often.
But, thanks to his speed of movement and his precision, Usyk did a lot of harm by approaching and placing his series of blows to the face, especially during the fourth round.
The “Gipsy King” has suffered many blows…
Respectfully, the two men embraced before the announcement of the judges' decision and the final result.
Declared the winner by unanimous decision of the judges, Usyk celebrated his victory, he who remains the undisputed champion of the heavyweight category.
