A completely unexpected hero for the Predators

The Nashville Predators dared to send different players into overtime and it paid off as Nick Blankenburg scored the decisive goal in a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon at Bridgestone Arena.

This meeting was presented on TVA Sports.

The Preds let the Los Angeles Kings force overtime by allowing two quick goals in the third period. Quinton Byfield and Alex Laferriere scored back-to-back in 3:59 to tie the game.

Driven by the energy of their fans, the Predators dominated the overtime, never losing control of the puck. After a minute, Filip Forsberg and Steven Stamkos provoked an attack and it was Blankenburg who took advantage. Watch in main video.

The defender obtained a first point this season thanks to this important goal. It also allowed Nashville to sign a 10th victory, being the only club so far not to have reached this plateau.

These are two Quebecers who scored the nets in regular time for the local favorites. Zachary L'Heureux scored his fourth of the year in the first period.

Jonathan Marchessault, for his part, hit the target thanks to a nice pass from his captain Roman Josi, who returned to the game after four games on the floor.

Despite this setback, the Kings have only been defeated once in regulation time in their last 11 outings.

Former Montreal Canadiens Justin Barron was not in uniform for this meeting with the Predators.
