Eirik Horneland is already revealing tracks for this winter

Freshly appointed as head of AS Saint-Étienne, Eirik Horneland intends to leave his mark on the club. To do this, the Norwegian technician will be able to rely on the winter transfer window, a key period for strengthening a squad in search of identity and results.

Guarantees for the new coach

From his official presentation, Eirik Horneland received assurances that adjustments would be made within the team. Loïc Perrin, sporting director of the Greens, confirmed this desire for movement by mentioning a transfer window based on opportunities. “It is obvious that we need recruits compatible with the coach’s ideas. The objective is to strengthen the team while respecting our guideline,” he declared at a press conference.

A philosophy focused on commitment and intensity

Horneland, known for his intense style of play and his demand for commitment, has already hinted at the outlines of his project. Loïc Perrin underlined the importance of bringing in experienced elements, while recalling that the current workforce is not lacking in maturity. “What matters is to bring in players capable of embodying a strong identity, aligned with the principles of Eirik,” he added.

Improve the existing

Beyond the recruits, Perrin insists on the need to maximize the potential of the players already present. “The best transfer window is also to optimize what we have,” he concluded, calling for synergy between new recruits and the current squad.

With a clear plan and renewed ambitions, AS Saint-Étienne hopes to regain positive momentum under the leadership of its new coach.
