Algeria Football– USM Alger (USMA) striker Ismaïl Belkacemi expressed great ambitions for his team during the 2024-2025 season. In an exclusive interview with the official website of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the player underlined the club's determination to succeed on all fronts this year.
Belkacemi was recently appointed Player of the week in the African Confederation Cup, thanks to his exceptional performance against ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, where he scored a double. This performance placed him at the top of the rankings of the top scorers in the group stage, thus strengthening his reputation on the continental scene.
Reacting to this distinction, he said: “It is an honor for me to be chosen as player of the week. It is also a source of pride for USM Alger. This kind of recognition motivates you to always give your best. With hard work and discipline, I plan to continue performing well and aim for other rewards in the future.”
Regarding the club's objectives, Belkacemi said: “The season will be difficult. We are engaged on three fronts, which requires great preparation and regularity of efforts. Each match will be approached as a final. We hope to live up to expectations to win a title at the end of the season and offer this joy to our supporters.”The Usmist player will have thus warned all the contenders for the African title, including the Moroccans of RS Berkane.
The striker did not fail to greet the USM Alger fans, whom he described as true “twelfth man”. He insisted on their crucial role in the team's success:
