At the end of the defeat of FC Rouen against LOSC in the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France (0-1)the coach of the Norman club, Régis Brouard, praised the Lille qualities.
“We have to be objective, it was very complicated for us in the first half. They (Lille, Editor's note) have this ability to zone out in the middle, to have a lot of movement in their game. We were forced to defend low because there are so many individual qualities on the technical aspect. They are capable of eliminating players in small spaces, they combine very, very well in the short game. (…) We had this highlight for around ten minutes, we could have equalized. It must be admitted that LOSC had chances and that they could also have taken them. It was a real Coupe de France match, with suspense and game situations. We have a lot to remember from this match for the future.

We must not forget that Lille is today part of the Top 8 of the Champions League. We have clearly seen that there are a lot of qualities in this team, a lot of experience. We saw it clearly at the end of the match. They broke the rhythm, they know how to do things in match management. We have to take all of that. »
