Morocco is embarking on an ambitious project: the construction of a new airport in Casablanca, with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year. This airport will be located opposite the existing Mohammed V airport, which will be retained.
The National Airports Office (ONDA) has therefore favored an extension of reception capacities rather than a simple renovation or expansion of the current airport.
To facilitate travel between the two platforms, tunnels will be built under the tracks, used by modern trains. This system, already tested in other international airports, will streamline passenger transit and optimize connections between flights.
On the ground, preparations began under the leadership of the Wali of the region and the Director General of ONDA. This project, which aims to improve the country's infrastructure and respond to the growth in air traffic, is part of a long-term development strategy.
This orientation is part of the continuity of the efforts made by Algeria to modernize its defense industry and make it a lever for economic growth. It also demonstrates the authorities' desire to promote national skills and promote technology transfer.
