The last match of 2024 at Les Vernets is this Friday! Genève-Servette hosts the ZSC Lions a few days after the announcement of a CHL semi-final against the same opponent. Who will mark their territory for this confrontation?
In addition to the match, several events will take place on the sidelines: Golden Badges, Henrik Tömmernes, Christmas match with the Carrefour-Rue action. And all this is offered to you by Clinique La Colline Hirslanden.
GSHC vs ZSC: send a message
Genève-Servette hosts the ZSC Lions this Friday at the Vernets ice rink. For their last home match of 2024, the Eagles want to finish in style in front of their home crowd. In addition, Jan Cadieux’s men are chasing points to move up the standings. Currently 11th, 10 points from 6th place, we will have to work hard and win big matches in order to give ourselves a chance of directly reaching the playoffs.
The Zurich residents, for their part, are the reigning champions and dominate the championship. They occupy 2nd place with 55 points in 26 matches (Davos is first, but with four more matches). Everything is going well with the Lions.
The two teams have faced each other twice this season, and each time, it was the Swiss-Germans who won. But the matches were very competitive, and it didn’t take much to see the Eagles win (2-1 defeats in overtime and 3-1).
Friday’s match at Les Vernets will be much more than a simple regular season meeting: each team will want to send a message. Since Tuesday evening, the two teams have known that they will face each other in the CHL semi-finals during the month of January. This promises an intense and competitive battle!
A match not to be missed, where the team hopes to receive the support of its supporters! There are not many places left for this meeting, the last tickets can be collected HERE!
Les Insignes d’Or et Henrik Tömmernes
The Genève-Servette Hockey Club (GSHC) is proud to relaunch the Golden Badges project! Created more than 60 years ago, this program honors those who wrote the history of the Club. Whether they are players, staff members or managers, these personalities embody the memory of the exploits of the GSHC.
This Friday, December 20, Henrik Tömmernes, Chris Rivera and Christian Serena will obtain their Gold Badge!
On the program:
- Special pre-match show
- Presence of Henrik Tömmernes at Vernets and Prime’s after the match
- Honoring our ancient glories
All the information regarding the Gold Badges can be found HERE!
Henrik Tömmernes does us the honor of coming to the match! He will be present in the rink to support his former teammates, but he will also put on a show on the ice: during the pre-match (from 7:30 p.m.), during breaks, he will present the prize for the best player and he will come to meet you after the match at Prime’s!
He will hand out autographed cards and be at the bar to serve you! Don’t miss this moment!
Christmas match: Carrefour-Rue & Coulou action
This year again, Genève-Servette and the Carrefour-Rue & Coulou Foundation are working together so that everyone can celebrate Christmas in the best possible conditions.
For the last match of 2024 at Les Vernets, the GSHC and the Carrefour-Rue & Coulou Foundation are joining forces again to offer a little Christmas magic to people in precarious situations. On Friday, under the tree in the ice rink hall, you can leave an UNWRAPPED gift.
Your gift will then be distributed by Carrefour-Rue to its beneficiaries so that they can celebrate Christmas in decent conditions. Thank you to everyone who participates in this outpouring of support and who, thanks to their gesture, will make stars shine in the eyes of children who really need it.
