The fifteenth day of Pro D2 is being played this weekend, with, to start, a duel between Brive and Agen on Thursday evening. Dax could achieve the big blow of the weekend, when Nice would have to submit to the law of the boss of the division, Grenoble.
Brive – Agen
Needless to say, there was disappointment for the Brivists last Friday evening, following the top-of-the-table clash on the Grenoble pitch. Largely beaten after conceding four tries in 20 minutes, Pierre-Henry Broncan’s men must not let the Isère residents fly to the top of the championship. The Agen reception on Thursday evening is therefore crucial. The Agenais took advantage of two receptions to redo their cherry after four defeats in a row but have only won one away match this season.
Our prediction: victory for Brive with the offensive bonus
Nice – Grenoble
Shock of extremes in the south-east of France. The red lantern receives the leader in a crucial match for the promoted team. With the improved victory of Oyonnax last week, Nice finds itself a little behind in the race to maintain itself and must now ensure at home to avoid losing its footing once and for all. But Grenoble seems very strong, as the success against Brive last week showed. Resisting will be complicated for Stade Nice…
Our prediction: victory for Grenoble
Provence Rugby – Valence Romans
Thanks to its flawless performance at home this season, Provence Rugby has somewhat masked its chronic difficulties away from home. Just last week, the Provençaux failed in Dax and must therefore make up for it in front of their audience at Maurice-David. This should be done against a Valence Romans team that is sometimes in real difficulty this season and which is fighting to maintain its position.
Our prediction: victory for Provence rugby with the offensive bonus
Soyaux-Angoulême – Nevers
Never this season had Soyaux-Angoulême been in as much difficulty as last week. Against Oyonnax, the Angoumousins took on water and did not give themselves confidence before receiving a team from Nevers who took a breath of fresh air. The successes in Nice and against Colomiers are perhaps foundational and Xavier Péméja’s men come to take a blow at Chanzy. This meeting could be closer than it seems.
Our prediction: victory for Soyaux-Angoulême, defensive bonus for Nevers
Aurillac – Dax
The Cantaliens remain on three consecutive successes at Jean-Alric against remaining competitors, Oyonnax, Nevers then Valence-Romans. There, it’s a team from Dax in full swing which presents itself in Auvergne. The Landais have four consecutive successes, and not against just anyone: Mont-de-Marsan, Nevers, Biarritz and Provence Rugby. To win, Jeff Dubois’ men will have to counter the power of the powerful opposing forwards. This meeting promises to be close until the end!
Our prediction: success for Dax, defensive bonus for Aurillac
Mont-de-Marsan – Béziers
After a failed start to the seasonthe Landais took six points ahead of the red zone. But with seven points behind the top 6, they are far from their initial objective and remain stuck in the soft underbelly of D2. Facing them, the ASBH. Béziers has taken at least one point in its fourteen matches this season, no one can say the same in the elite antechamber. With the desire to continue this series, the Biterrois will travel to Boniface a pitch which is hardly successful for them – only defeats since the draw in November 2013.
Our prediction: success of Mont-de-Marsan, Béziers pockets the defensive bonus
Montauban – Oyonnax
An autumn hit, Montauban has been running out of steam in recent weeks with the arrival of winter. The Montalbanais remain on three setbacks in a row. To compensate for the defeat against Soyaux-Angoulême, USM has no choice. She will have to win in Sapiac against a poorly ranked to attack 2025 well placed in the ranking. Opposite, Oyonnax relaunched during its last outing, against SAXV, and will want to confirm its improvement.
Our prediction: success for Montauban, defensive bonus for Oyonnax
Colomiers – Biarritz
This season, the Dove had difficulty taking flightalternating good and bad performances. To avoid spending the holidays closer to the relegation zone than to the top 6, victory against BO is imperative. Opposite, the Basques present themselves with an experienced team but lacking many elements present in the infirmary.
Our prediction: success for Colomiers, defensive bonus for Biarritz
