Painful observation: Dach and Newhook have reached their full potential

Dach is only seven games away from this plateau and has 108 points. If his 38 points in 58 games in 2022-2023 seemed promising, we see that it is much more difficult this season.

The conclusions are similar for Newhook, who has 106 points in 245 games.

“According to my philosophy, they are what they are. That is to say that Dach is a third line player, a player who will find himself on the numerical disadvantage. Newhook is a “bottom six” guy who will find himself outnumbered,” explained Séguin.

Obviously, this theory is not flawless since it is not impossible that Dach or Newhook surprises. However, there are several examples that support this model.

“Jack Hughes, his first two seasons with New Jersey, it was so-so. Third season, he got to one point per game. Fourth season, 99 points and he became a spectacular player in the National League,” explained the host before continuing.

“Alexis Lafrenière, we agree that he is in the top 6 [des Rangers de New York]but he will not be your number 1. I have another example: Lucas Raymond has 268 games and he has established himself as a point per game guy.
