The association took stock of its activities and discussed the projects.

Among the 142 members of the Quillan Vita’Gym sports association, a large number came to participate in the general assembly which took place Thursday, December 12. After presenting the office, the president Julie Kakiou thanked Gilles Alard, deputy in charge of sports for his presence, the town hall and Pierre Castel for the loan of the rooms and the annual subsidy, as well as that allocated to the club by the town hall of Ginoles and the help of various sponsors.

She reported on the moral record of the association affiliated with the French Federation of Voluntary Physical Education and Gymnastics, which has been campaigning for healthy sport since 1993, a federation which has more than 5,000 clubs and 7,000 qualified instructors.

The moral report was voted unanimously, followed by the financial report, positive and balanced, also approved by the entire audience. The president gave very positive feedback on the association forum in which the club participated, welcoming the judicious choice of the location near the market on Saturday morning.

Last June, the season ended with a picnic hike orchestrated by Gilbert, a member and outdoor referent whom she thanked. Julie also mentioned the club’s participation in the Parlons Santé day which took place in Couiza last November, an event where the club had its place, “because I think that among all of you, practicing sport is an excellent way to maintain good physical and mental health.”

Gilles Alard then spoke: “ I thank Julie and her team of volunteers for continuing Rose’s action within the club with good momentum. Vita’Gym is a club who attends the association forum every year, an example of involvement in community life that I salute because it is an approach that I greatly appreciate.”

The office was renewed with Julie Kakiou as president; treasurer, Corinne Jot; assistant treasurer, Isabelle Berger; secretary, Martine Peyre; assistant secretary, Gill Bedding; and a new vice-president, Martine Thomas.

At the end of the general meeting, Ursula, one of the members of Vita’Gym, shared her knowledge of naturopathy with the public.

The evening continued around a buffet, Spanish inn style, where all participants enjoyed meeting in a very friendly atmosphere.
