Transfermarkt.com recently updated the Jupiler Pro League transfer values. Quite logically, Club Bruges dominates the debates. But Anderlecht and Genk are also doing well.
Goalkeeper
This is probably going to be the biggest surprise. The most expensive goalkeeper in the Pro League is… Mike Penders, yet on the bench. His transfer to Chelsea for 20 million euros increased his market value, even if he is currently worth “only” 5 million according to Transfer market. He now surpasses Jean Butez, who was still worth 8 million last June!
Defenders
The two names on the sides will be less surprising. Maxim De Cuyper is listed at 12 million. He became a Red Devil and is essential at Club Bruges. On the right side, we find Zakaria El Ouahdi with a market value of 10 million. Genk rubs his hands.
In the middle, a combination of players from Club Bruges and Genk: Matt Smets saw its value increase from 4 million at the beginning of January to 10 million now. But the most expensive player in Jupiler Pro League is Joel Ordonez. And it’s even more impressive because it’s now valued at 18 million, up from 2.5 million a year ago. He surpasses all his teammates at the Club.
midfielder
Two more Club Brugge players in the midfield: Ardon Jashari et Raphael Onyedika. They are respectively estimated at 11 and 16 million. In front of them, the first Anderlecht player to appear is of course Mario Stroeykens. Heavily criticized at the start of his career, he is now valued at 14 million euros.
Wingers
Unsurprisingly, we still find two Club Brugge players on the wings. Andreas Skov Olsen is the only one whose market value has… decreased, from 20 million in 2023 to 16 million now.
On the other side, we find Christos Tzolis which will also be a source of income for the Blauw & Zwart in the future, as it is now valued at 18 million after being bought for 6.5 million last summer.
Attacker
Normally we should mention Kévin Denkey here, because with his 14 million he is the most expensive in this position, but the Togolese played his last match for Cercle.
Behind him is Kasper Dolbergwith a market value of 13 million euros, who is the most expensive striker in our championship. The Dane should see his value increase further in the coming months. Anderlecht will hope he can maintain this level, because if he were to leave it would be for much more than they signed him for.
