A typically American experience, Jumpshot offers, based on the model of bowling and Top Golf, the opportunity to compete with your friends in a basket shooting competition. Between light shows, giant screens broadcasting sports matches, and well-stocked menus, the creators hope to be able to develop the concept from 2025.

A new type of establishment should soon open its doors in the United States. A place to eat, drink, watch sports – nothing new so far – but also play basketball: Jumpshot. The first establishment is expected in 2025.
The layout will be the same as a bowling alley, but the lane and pins would be replaced by an alley approximately 13 meters long and 3 meters wide with a basket. Basket whose height and distance can be modified to change the playing conditions. There is no place here for one-on-one matches but rather shooting contests. In its press release, Jumpshot mentions a surface area of 4,500 m2 with around fifty of these aisles and each time armchairs to accommodate groups of six people. Projectors and light shows will also contribute to a feeling of immersion for players. Add to this the screens broadcasting sports matches as well as the possibility of ordering food and drinks. A very American menu, with fries, chicken wings, and hamburgers on the menu.
A concept inspired by another sport: Top Golf. In the United States, these spaces are very common. There is one very close to the Los Angeles airport or another behind one of the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, for example. The principle is the same: comfortable benches for chatting, drinking, having a good time but also golf clubs, like on a classic driving range. The balls are equipped with sensors to measure distances and accuracy. The goal is therefore a little different from a round on a 9 or 18 hole course, but the raw pleasure of golf, for many, remains hitting the ball.
Launched in England before expanding internationally to the United States, Australia, Germany, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand, the sport does not appeal to golf purists – a traditional sport par excellence – but to Sunday players seem to appreciate it. Among them, the creators of Jumpshot, who said to themselves that the concept should be applied to their favorite sport, basketball.
It remains to be seen whether it can become lucrative. To go to the golf driving range, you have to pay and rent equipment, or bring your own, but basketball hoops, particularly in the United States, are everywhere, with free access outdoors in particular. What’s more, golf remains an individual game, whereas shooting competitions without playing can quickly become boring in basketball.
The creators of Jumpshot, however, convinced big names from the NBA to support them, such as Kenyon Martin, Detlef Schrempf, and Grayson Allen. The boss, Derrick Mayes, is himself a former American football player, champion with the Green Bay Packers team in 1996. Jumpshot considers that the market has potential, while 28 million Americans play basketball. , and twenty times more throughout the world.
