Selestat

The men’s pennant team won in a suspenseful match against Monéteau-Héry (72-68) in front of a packed house. Manhandled during the 1is quarter-time, the Violets, under the leadership of Yann Valynseele and Samy Tindiller, gradually came back to take the lead in the 3rde quarter (56-55). Strengthening their defensive efforts, they were able to accentuate their advantage at the end of the match to finally win (72-68). They are now the sole leaders of their group in Nationale 3.

City

The senior women’s I ended the year with a victory at Geispolsheim III. From the start, the attacks took over the defenses, with a score of 24-19 at the end of the 1is quarter for locals. Villé remains on the same bases offensively with 19 pts scored but toughens its defense and at the break the two teams are tied 38-38. With a higher and more aggressive defense, the Villoises recovered numerous balls allowing them to take a good lead at the end of 3e period: 48-60. In the last quarter the gap widens further (63-48) but in the money time, the locals do not give up and come back to 4 pts. However, the last word will be Villé who wins 67-61.

The first victory this time will not again be for the men’s I. In Hindisheim, another poorly ranked place, throughout the meeting the two teams play in series. Hindisheim leads 14-2 then it is Villé’s turn to lead the debates to return to 14-14. At the break the gap is 12 pts: 39-51. The 3e period is to the assets of the premises: 23-13. There remains only 2 pts difference: 62-64. Hindisheim won the last round and the match 85-77.

The men’s II narrowly lost to Ohnenheim 47-50.

The women’s II were unable to compete with leader Rosheim, the net winner: 106-42.

Victory for men III against Kogenheim 56-46.

Youth: U13F – AUS: 9 – 20. U11F – AUS: 21-44.

Epfig

After a series of short frustrating defeats, the senior men’s team welcomed their neighbor Barrois, another poorly ranked team with only one idea in mind: to win! The start is underway and the teams answer each other tit for tat (17-21, 10e ).

The Eppigeois are a little less present and Barr takes the opportunity to take off with an 8-0. A saving time out stopped the bleeding and the locals, stung, finally rebelled and caught up just before the break (33-34). The 3e usual quarter-time indulgence of Unitas, will be successful for once. The defense is better organized and the balls recovered are converted on the other side of the field (52-47).

The last quarter confirms this renewed form with a playful and altruistic team, which will vary the pleasures between percussion and long-distance skill to put the Barrois definitively on the ropes.

Epfig ends the year with a great victory with a final score of 74 to 58. This result will restore confidence to the group who are not giving up.

Youth: Rosheim – U15F: 36-27. U18M – Witternheim: 66-65. Electricity – U11F: 23-17.
