Union Saint-Gilloise won against Westerlo (3-1) this Sunday. Franjo Ivanovic scored a hat-trick.
Union Saint-Gilloise suddenly seems to have gotten rid of its offensive problems. And this is largely due to the superb shape of Franjo Ivanovic.
Already the author of a double last Thursday in the Europa League against OGC Nice, the young Croatian striker scored a hat-trick…in 12 minutes against Westerlo.
“This hat-trick proves that confidence is essential in our position,” he declared post-match at the microphone of Sudinfo. “On the third goal (…), I attempted a daring move that I probably would not have dared one or two weeks earlier although I try it – and succeed… – regularly during the week.”
“I have already had periods where I did not score for weeks. But I know my qualities and know that the goals will always end up falling,” he continued. “I’m not going to go crazy though. When you’re confident like I am now, everything is easier. You have the impression that the balloons are magnetized, that you have more luck.”
“That was the case on my second goal, when the goalkeeper pushed the ball back into my feet. These are the goals that give an attacker the most pleasure.”
