Saint-Céré finished its first part of the season in fine style and started the return phase in the best possible way by achieving a new success (its fourth in a row in the championship and its seventh in ten days) 19 to 10 this Sunday against RC Montauban (one of the two teams to have beaten Saint-Céré this season).
For its final meeting before the winter break, the “Sang et Or” took the lead just before the quarter of an hour of play following a penalty from Garcia.
But numerically inferior following two yellow cards received in the 21st and 26th minutes, the Saint-Céréens conceded ten points in the space of three minutes on a visitor’s try scored by Bezombes (and transformed by Tintinger) then on a penalty of the same Tintinger who gave his team a seven-point lead (3 to 10).
Once again at fifteen against fifteen, the Saint-Céréens immediately got their hands on the ball and moved forward. Playing in the opposing half of the field, the Lotois pushed their opponents into mistakes and the scorer Garcia did not hesitate to convert his team’s offensive intentions into points. He scored two penalties at the end of the first period to bring his team back on the heels of the visitors at the break (10 to 9) before adding three new entry points in the second period allowing the “Sang et Or” to get back in front at scoreboard (12 to 10, 44th).
On the momentum, the players of coaches Patrick Bonal, Yannick Stratégie, Guillaume Tauxes and Christophe Taule definitively assured their victory by scoring, nine minutes later, a try by Dailly Larribe. Winner 19 to 10, Saint-Céré ended the year on a good note. Now for a well-deserved winter break before starting the second part of the season on January 12 at the Stade Louis Delpech against Gourdon XV Bouriane.
