Dante Rigo, a former U21 international considered at the time to be one of PSV Eindhoven’s great talents, currently plays in Ligue 2 in Grenoble. Unfortunately, he was injured this Saturday against Red Star.
Grenoble is having a very complicated season in Ligue 2 and has not won in the championship since October 18. In this team which is not doing very well, we usually find a known face: Dante Rigo (26 years old), former Beerschot midfielder (13 matches, one goal).
But this Saturday, Grenoble lost on the pitch to Red Star FC (3-1), and Rigo suffered a serious injury. At the half-hour mark, the Belgian came out in tears after his ankle turned. According to the Dauphiné Libéréit would be a fracture of the ankle.
The season of Rigo, who has been playing at GF38 since July 2023 after his time at Beerschot, could therefore already be over. It would be a hard blow for both the player and the club, 12th in Ligue 2 and more concerned with the race to maintain than to climb.
Dante Rigo was trained at PSV Eindhoven and wore the colors of the A team 9 times. After a few loans to the Netherlands, the Belgian signed for Beerschot in 2022 and played a full season there, for 38 matches, 2 goals and 3 assists.
At the end of his contract in June 2023, Rigo signed with Grenoble, a former Ligue 1 club which has been playing in the French second division for several years now.
