Felice Mazzù’s move to RSC Anderlecht was a casting error that suited neither party. Currently, the former Charleroi coach is thriving in Sint-Truiden.
With hindsight, it is quite clear: the idea of seeking Happy Mazzù at Union Saint-Gilloise to replace Vincent Kompany was not brilliant. Without calling into question the qualities of coach Carolo, the marriage seemed a little forced, and after a promising start, both parties had to face the facts.
This Sunday, Mazzù returns to the RSCA, and does not think about this failure. “My beginnings at Anderlecht were good, with qualification for the Conference League, which I am proud of. Afterwards, things went less well, but I have no resentment towards anyone,” says Felice Mazzù in the Importance of Limburg.
After a stint at Charleroi, which also ended in pain, the former coach of the Mauves completely relaunched himself at STVV. And he has no regrets: “It didn’t work in Anderlecht, but at least I can say that I tried,” he puts things into perspective. “You can’t be disappointed when you try something. There are much worse things in life.”
Felice Mazzù currently no longer has any contacts within Sporting, but is not offended either: “One day you are in the spotlight, the next day they forget you, that’s how it is. is the world of football, this is not a criticism, just an observation, we must accept it,” concludes Mazzù.
The Canaries are currently 13th in the Pro League, in the red zone, despite an attractive game which has so far not been rewarded. The objective will therefore be to make it happen this Sunday against the Mauve & Blanc.
