The Quebecer had just experienced a disappointment after her fourth place in the 400m medley, but she was able to bounce back less than an hour later to help Canada win the bronze medal in the mixed 4x100m medley relay at the World Short Course Swimming Championships, Budapest, Hungary.
The Quebecer achieved the feat alongside Ingrid Wilm, Finlay Knox and Ilya Kharun. Blake Tierney, Sophie Angus and Penny Oleksiak also swam in qualifying earlier in the day.
I had no choice but to be ready for the relay. It was important for me to end the day on a good note. I feel confident in breaststroke this week, regardless of the distance. This is my fourth medal since the start of the World Championships, it’s going very well, I’m very satisfied.

The Canadians were accompanied on the podium by the neutral athletes and the Americans, gold and silver medalists respectively.
Earlier on Saturday, the Trifluvienne took fourth place in the 400m medley, an event won by Ontario’s Summer McIntosh, who lowered the world mark to 4 min 15.48 s.
It was a return for Harvey to this event as his last start in the 400m medley on the international scene was in 2019, at the Pan American Games.
“I was a little behind in the first 200 meters, but I knew that I was stronger in the second half and that I would be able to come back from behind. Unfortunately, I was a little too far away to be in the race. I made some mistakes, but I learned something positive from them. »
“The pool is extremely fast here and it feels good because the pool at the Paris Olympics was really slow. “It’s exciting to see so many world records being broken,” she added.
Also in action Saturday at the Duna Arena, Timothé Barbeau took the 25e rank in the 800m freestyle which was won by the Hungarian Zalan Sarkany.
On Friday, Harvey won the silver medal in the mixed 4×50 freestyle relay. She was also decorated with bronze twice on Tuesday, in the 400m freestyle, as well as the 4x100m freestyle.
Mary-Sophie Harvey will be back in action on Sunday on the final day of activity in the Hungarian capital. She will compete in the 200m freestyle and will also swim in the final of the 4x100m medley relay.
