Saint-Étienne coach Olivier Dall’Oglio has been dismissed from his duties, we learned from ASSE on Saturday.
The decision comes the day after the defeat of the Stéphanois in Toulouse (2-1), the tenth of the season, after which they are in 16th place in L1.
“Until further notice, the supervision of the professional team will be provided by Laurent Huard, director of the training center”specifies a press release from ASSE published on Saturday at the end of the day.
The Foréziens, who have won only four matches and drawn one, are due to host Marseille on December 22 in the round of 32 match of the Coupe de France.
Aged 60, Dall’Oglio arrived in Saint-Étienne on December 12, 2023 to replace Laurent Batlles, sacked after a series of poor results, while the Greens were playing in Ligue 2.
With Olivier Dall’Oglio, AS Saint-Étienne managed to climb the rankings to finish 3rd before securing accession to Ligue 1 by beating Metz in the play-offs.
With the rise, the technician had obtained an automatic extension but had not managed to convince the new owners of the Saint-Etienne club, the Kilmer Sport Ventures group, to extend for an additional year. His contract therefore ended next June.
