After their inaugural success against Newport, the Cistes had an appointment with a new Welsh team for this second day of the Challenge Cup. At the GGL Stadium, the MHR honored its now traditional meeting with Jac Morgan’s Ospreys. The objective was to confirm the good start of the 2024/2025 European campaign… Mission accomplished!
The first half quickly turned to the advantage of the locals. The MHR strikes first thanks to a very prominent Nicolas Martins, quickly imitated by Tyler Duguid, all power. After 15 minutes of play, the gap is made: 14-0. The Osrpeys, who came without complexes, exploited all their balloons but made too much waste to be able to achieve success. Quite the opposite of the ultra-realistic Héraultais, who drove the point home with an attempt by Jordan Uelese. The Welsh responded timidly with a drop from their fly-half Dan Edwards. Shortly before the break, Léo Coly scored the 4e try synonymous with offensive bonus and lets the GGL Stadium explode. 26-3 at the break.
The second half will start again on the same standards, mass is said from the hour mark following the tries of young Lyam Akrab, Mael Moustin and Auguste Cadot. Enzo Forletta, then Madosh Tambwe will increase the score for the MHR, which will finally win with a river score: 59-15!
The MHR therefore continues its European parenthesis with a second success, this one improved. Next episode in January with the reception of the Lions, but before that, the MHR will meet Racing 92 next Saturday for the return of the Top 14 to Montpellier!
