The Senegal women’s national Football team will meet that of Chad, during the first round of the qualifiers for the 2026 African Cup category scheduled for Morocco, we learned on Thursday after the draw of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which took place in Cairo.
In total, thirty-eight countries will take part in these CAN 2026 qualifiers.
Morocco will also host the 2024 edition of the women’s CAN. Initially scheduled for 2023, the 2024 edition is scheduled for July 5 to 26, 2025 in Morocco, where the competition will be held for the third time in a row.
The qualifications will take place in two rounds, in two-legged matches. The first round will be held from February 17 to 26, 2025. The second round matches are scheduled for October 20 to 28, 2025.
South Africa, defending champion of the 2022 edition, and five other nations are exempt from the first round, due to their position in the FIFA rankings. These are Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia.
Senegal, which is participating in the first round, will meet Chad. The winner of this match will face Ivory Coast in the next round.
