While several players battled for possession of the puck, the Blues’ Radek Faksa was cut off by Danton Heinen’s errant skate as he lost his balance and fell to the ice.
Hit in the inner thigh, Faksa immediately realized something was wrong and headed towards his team’s bench.
Fortunately, the 30-year-old Czech escaped without any real consequences.
“He’s fine. He was cut by a skate. He needed a few stitches, but fortunately there was no damage,” said Blues head coach Jim Montgomery after the game.
Faksa joined the Blues this offseason after being traded for future considerations. So far this year, he has two goals and seven points in 29 games.
