Juraj Slafkovsky is not having a great season. We’ll say it like that.
Playing with Patrik Laine is a vote of confidence from management… but at the same time, he will have to do something to earn it, that playing time.
Everyone agrees on that.
The CH hopes that the young man will stand up, but it will not happen like magic. For the moment, nothing too drastic has been applied, that said, since he still has a lot of playing time.
The Canadian mainly goes there, from what we see, with discussions. Kent Hughes notably told Slaf very clearly what he needed to improve in recent weeks.
And we can imagine that Martin St-Louis often talks to him about that. After all, communication is important to the Flannel pilot.
During today’s training, we saw a scene that doesn’t happen every day: the coach of the Canadian spent a long time chatting to the Slovak and explaining several things to him, obviously.
We don’t know the exact nature of the discussions, but I’m going to take a chance and say that he wasn’t just asking Slaf what he bought his family for Christmas.
And I like it.
Slaf is the type of player who seems to respond when he receives criticism and he seems to enjoy getting feedback from his bosses. That said, the next step will be to score goals once in a while.
It remains to be seen when it will unlock.
In burst
– Oh well yes.
– To be monitored.
– Hum…
– Anyway.
– Wow.
