Pep Guardiola recently extended his contract with Manchester City, which he will manage until 2025. At the end of this commitment, the Spanish technician will have spent a decade at the head of the Skyblues.
But even the best adventures come to an end, and Guardiola is fully aware of this. Guest on the YouTube channel of famous chef Dani Garcia, the 53-year-old coach shared his thoughts on his future.
I will definitely not coach another club again
“There will come a time when I’ll really have had enough and quit for good,” he said, as reported The Newspaper. An affirmation followed by a clarification that could surprise: “I will certainly no longer coach another club.”
Guardiola also ruled out the idea of taking on a similar challenge to the one he is currently experiencing at City. “I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I won’t do is leave Manchester City to go to another country and start this whole training process again. I wouldn’t have the energy for that the idea of starting again somewhere else… no, no, no.”
However, becoming a national team coach remains a possibility. “Maybe a national team, but it’s different. In reality, I should really stop, it would do me good,” he concluded with sincerity.
