The plaintiff’s lawyer, Natacha Romano, reacted to the dismissal decision pronounced this Tuesday by the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office in favor of Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou.
It is a decision which closes a series of several months. This Tuesday, the Mendoza public prosecutor’s office in Argentina dismissed charges in the Oscar Jegou-Hugo Auradou case, the two rugby players charged with aggravated rape last July. According to our colleagues from Le Parisien, the plaintiff’s lawyer, Natacha Romano, affirmed that she would “appeal immediately” of a decision that she finds “unfounded and very serious”.
“My client is devastated”
According to her, the decision to dismiss “does not take into account several important elements of the file”. Natacha Romano also spoke about the psychological state of the complainant: “My client is devastated, she can’t get out of bed. »
The lawyer now has fifteen working days to appeal the decision to the Collegiate Court of Mendoza. Two weeks ago, she had already recalled that there was no “no concrete evidence” to dismiss the case. If the latter were confirmed, the Argentinian judicial process provides for a total dropping of charges and exoneration of the accused.
