On the occasion of the 13th day of Liqui Moly StarLigue and its 2th episode of the XXL Saga, HBC Nantes hosted Chambéry.
In a still full Neodif Ivan Pesic in turn made his first saves (10′ 5-1). The Nantais had to play outnumbered (13′ 6-3) but Aymeric Minne also caused an opposing exclusion. The defense of the Yoshida-Briet duo was very effective (15′ 7-3). Gradually, the “H” increased its lead in the score and forced the Chambéry coach to take a first time-out (20′ 10-4). Pierre-Alexis stood out on his wing, Ivan Pesic closed the shop and Aymeric Minne got his arm talking again (22′ 12-4). As against Magdeburg, Ayoub Abdi made a remarkable entrance (26′ 14-5). At the break, the “H” already had a 10-goal lead: 16-6.
The Violets started again on the same basis (35′ 18-8). Julien Bos scored one goal after another and took advantage of the slightest Savoyard error to put it to good use (37′ 21-10). On the Chambéry side, Lucas Vanegue led the game and Adrien Vergely took care of the 7 meters but the “H” retained its advantage (44′ 24-14). Twice, Rok Ovnicek and his partners played for Pierre-Alexis Favril who was in front of goal (47′ 26-16). Thibaud Briet continued to be monstrous in defense and his teammates quickly mounted the balls (51′ 28-17). After his left winger colleague, it was Salomon Nassequela, also a resident of the training center, who distinguished himself on the other wing (53′ 29-19). HBC Nantes, solid and sure of its strength, won in style: 32-25.
