Dedryck Boyata is really not satisfied with his situation at Club Brugge. The ex-Red Devil even believes that he is harassed by his employer.
Club Brugge has been trying for some time to part with Boyata’s lucrative contract, without success. Last summer, the 33-year-old could have left Bruges, but he refused: “I refused an offer because I didn’t want to leave Belgium and go abroad again. I came back to Belgium to be close of my family. My son had just started school, I didn’t want to force my family to move again.”
Boyata believes he is being treated disrespectfully
Following this choice, the defender was left out of the first team: “I train alone or with Club NXT. I also regularly receive a program that I have to do at home. I have to change in a small room where the cleaning team keeps the belongings, which I refuse And I can no longer eat at the club either. They want to do everything so that I no longer have contact with my teammates. just disrespectful.”
Response from Club Brugge
Comments to which Club Brugge were keen to respond: “The club was very clear with Dedryck last summer: there is no longer any future for him here. We let him train the whole time. been with the first team and he was even able to play friendly matches to showcase himself.”
However, no solution was found: “When we noticed that no club wanted him, we offered to release him for 2/3 of his annual salary. Dedryck refused and since then he has been training five days a week, either in professional conditions or collectively with Club NXT. In the meantime, his contract will be respected, as for any employee.”
