Alexis Pinturault gives up on the descent of Beaver Creek

Not competitive enough, the Frenchman wants to keep his “jokers” which allow him to start with bib 31 after his injured status.

It’s not a real surprise but a little disappointment all the same. While he hoped to make his comeback during the descent of Beaver Creek after his serious injury contracted last season in Wengen, the skier from Courchevel will have to wait at least for Saturday’s super-G in Colorado. The reason is his lack of competitiveness, as he observed during training on the Birds of Prey (44th and 56th).

In fact, it is a point of regulation that prevents Alexis Pinturault from lining up in the United States. On the downhill, he only has three “jokers” thanks to his injured status. These allow him to start with bib 31 in the discipline. Except that given his current level, he prefers not to burn them and save them for later in the season, when he will feel more able to play leading roles.
