A hand that goes very badly and drove Felice Mazzù crazy: even DAZN reacts – All football

Ibrahima Sory Bangoura’s hand continues to be talked about since the publication of new images yesterday. These images were not available to VAR, which forced DAZN to react.

Jan Mosselmans, boss of DAZN Belgium, was keen to explain the difference in the number of cameras per match. In Jupiler Pro League, there are three different formats determined by the Pro League and DAZN. STVV-Genk did not have the maximum number.

“There is an M model, an L and an XL,” explains Mosselmans in The Importance of Limburg. “With an M model we use six cameras, with an L between eight and twelve, and with the XL model there are 23 cameras.”

In Sint-Truiden, there were between eight and twelve. “As it was an important match, we used the L format in Stayen,” says Mosselmans. These are different types of cameras, including a 16 meter camera used to judge offside phases.

For DAZN, the problem on Bangoura’s hand does not lie in the quality of the cameras. “I think it’s more about the quantity than the quality of the images, because they are good,” says Mosselmans.

“If there had been more cameras, maybe they could have clarified things, but maybe not. Everyone has to realize that there will always be some form of interpretation for certain phases. We want to objectify the phases as much as possible, and the Pro League is already making a lot of effort in this direction.”

Perhaps one day we will get to the point where all matches have the same number of cameras, namely the XL format… and perhaps that would be a little fairer.
