CONFRONTATION OF THE 4 NATIONS: Pierre LeBrun reveals 19 of the 23 players of Team Canada

It is today that the leaders of Canada, the United States, Sweden and Finland must officially submit their list of 23 players selected to participate in the 4 Nations Showdown in preparation for the big unveiling scheduled for tomorrow, the December 4.

As for Team Canada, the team selection was finalized this weekend, according to what the journalist reports and insider Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic.

Last June, each team announced six players already selected in their roster. As for Canada, it was the defender Kale Makar (Avalanche) as well as attackers Connor McDavid (Oilers), Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche), Sidney Crosby (Penguins), Brayden Point (Lightning) et Brad Marchand (Bruins).

We reported to you earlier this morning that a leak revealed two surprise names selected by Team Canada .

Now the journalist Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports having managed to find out the identity of 19 of the 23 players who will represent Canada in a few weeks.

Here is the list of names he managed to discover.

  • GOALKEEPERS (3): Jordan Binnington (Blues), Adin Hill (Golden Knights) et ????.
  • DEFENDERS (7): Kale Makar (Avalanche), Shea Theodore (Golden Knights), Alex Pietrangelo (Golden Knights), Josh Morrissey (Jets), Travis Sanheim (Flyers)???? et ????.
  • ATTACKERS (13): Connor McDavid (Oilers), Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche), Sidney Crosby (Penguins), Brayden Point (Lightning) et Brad Marchand (Bruins), Anthony Cirelli (Lightning), Brandon Hagel (Lightning), Sam Reinhart (Panthers), Sam Bennett (Panthers), Mitch Marner (Maple Leafs), Mark Stone (Golden Knights), Travis Konecny (Flyers) et ????.

Note that according to the journalist Marco D’Amicothe attacker Nick Suzuki of the Montreal Canadiens would have officially been ignored by the leaders of the Canadian team.

  • Aged 25, Nick Suzuki is a 5’11″/207lbs right-handed center selected in the 1st round (13th overall) in the 2017 draft. So far this season, he has compiled a record of 9 goals and 15 assists for a total of 24 points in 24 matches.

The tournament will take place between February 12 and 20.
