Kenzo Craigie, a young Briton of Guadeloupean and Jamaican origin, won a second world title last weekend, as a junior karting driver, Guadeloupe la 1ère reported Tuesday, December 3. At the age of 14, Kenzo Craigie is the first junior karting driver to hold the FIA Junior and IAME Junior X30 titles at the same time. “I made history this weekend!” declared the champion, on his Facebook account, the day after his second coronation.
On September 15, this talented boy won the title of karting world champion, in the OK Junior FIA 2024 category, the most prestigious international competition in his discipline, the antechamber of Formula 1.
His exploits, quite naturally, attracted the attention of another driver, his idol at the start of a similar journey: Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, whom Kenzo Craigie has since met and who also started with karting before winning seven Formula 1 world championship titles.
