Riemer makes striking revelation about leaving RSCA

Anderlecht did not manage to take three points on the Leuven pitch on Sunday, but we can still say that the Mauves’ performances have been much better since David Hubert replaced Brian Riemer on the Anderlecht bench.

As a reminder, the young 36-year-old coach started the season at the head of the RSCA U18 team, but got his chance after the dismissal of Brian Riemer in mid-September.

Fortunately for Riemer, he was able to quickly find a job. And not just any job since he became national coach of Denmark. After starting with a defeat against Spain (1-2), the Danish coach managed to obtain a point against Serbia in the Nations League (0-0).

The Danish Association wasted no time

In an interview with Viaplay, he revealed that the Danish Football Association acted very quickly after his dismissal from Anderlecht: “I was dismissed from Anderlecht in the morning. It was announced in the press and within a few hours later, while I was in my car somewhere on the border between Belgium and Germany, my phone rang. That’s when I had my first conversation with Peter.

First contacts in August

This Peter that Riemer is talking about is Peter Moller, the technical director of the Danish Football Association: “Peter had already contacted me in August, but I had not received an offer at the time. He just wanted to inquire about “It was only when I was fired from Anderlecht that things became real. I really wanted this job,” concludes Riemer.
