Alphonso Davies’ driving license was suspended for a month after he was stopped by police last week in Munich.
A source confirmed that the 24-year-old Bayern player had to blow into a breathalyzer and his alcohol level was 0.6 grams (per liter) while the limit in Germany is 0.5. A rate of 0.8 is considered criminal.
This same source revealed that the captain of the Canadian selection received a fine and lost 2 demerit points in addition to having seen his license suspended for a month.
According to the daily BildDavies was driving a Lamborghini.
Davies was still in the starting lineup on Saturday in the 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund. Coach Vincent Kompany confirmed to the Sky network before the match that an incident involving his player had occurred and that he would be sanctioned internally.
When asked why Davies was among the starters, Kompany said he did not want to punish the team by not using him.
Davies will be left without a contract at the end of the season and his name is involved in several rumors across Europe.
